The spurs and the leg

Ray O. rno2m@virginia.edu
Glad I don't have this rule to deal with because I CANNOT get my heels or ankles against the flanks of my horse without a very long, radically curved spur.He is extremely slab-sided,I am long legged, and I use a very long stirrup leather.Surely there are other riders out there who have the same problem. In other words, the spur is not only a concentration of the cueing pressure, but an extension of the ankle/heel as well.(And in the case of my horse-he knows how to resist by swinging the back end on you.I simply cannot ride him as well without these spurs.)
