Re: Bill and Smokey

Bill Proctor has been posting incredible workouts and ride reports Ride
reports which corresponded to AERC ride dates in Central Region. First
place at three consecutive 50 mile rides, and BC at two of them. dates
March 10th, April 7th, and April 21st. (I believe) He is not listed in the
AERC database as having started or completed and 50s (or 100s) in 2001 (or
ever).

After an extremely dramatic May 5th ride report, including saving a horses
life on trail, giving his own horse to the other rider, getting his horse
back in time to stay in front of the pack, and his horse falling and
injuring Bill, including broken ribs and a broken arm, he still rides in and
wins his first 100. Yes, I was laughing because I figured it wasn't true.

I PRIVATELY sent ti an incredibly rude post. ("LAUGHING MY ASS OFF") I have
since apologized. Bill graciously accepted my apology. ti threw it in my
face, adding that I was a "cowardly, backbiting moron", saying my agenda was
"personal, manipulative and filthy". (among other things)

In that first private post, I said that I thought ti should verify Bill's
ride reports thru an official source as I thought his results were
'fanciful'. My concern for verifiable results were meet with extremely
hostility, and three days later, I was FINALLY told that the rides were not
AERC rides. I don't know why this wasn't stated up front. It would have
saved a lot of confusion.

BILL has been *extremely* gracious to me thru all of this. The matter was
ENDED as far as I was concerned, I have *not* been in contact with Kathy
Mayeda regarding this.
