any help for a hitch in the TMJ?

Hi All,
    One of my horses as a "hitch" in his jaw - the meniscus
doesn't move correctly.  I hear a "clunking" noise when he chews. 
The equine dentist says he can't really use his jaw correctly but that
it isn't life threatening with continued good dental care.  I'm curious
to know if anyone knows of any "cure?"
