Hi Michelle,
    Arabs mouths are on the small side and apparently they can also have low
palates so, theoretically, ported bits aren't a good idea.  However, I use a
fairly high port bit in my arab diagnosed with a low palate and it works fine.
It's the one bit he listens to but he's gotten so light I almost never have to
use its leverage.
    Most of the time the port just lies on the tongue and only raises against
the palate with rein pressure.
