Route 40 or Rt 70 ???

I'm going to N. Platte Neb from southern Ca. I need to know which of the
2 routes
listed above is the best. Rt 70 appears shorter, but since it passes thru
Denver, looks
like it may be a tough haul for a truck and trailer. How is RT 83 thru
Kansas?
