I use Hydrophane oil, comes in a blue/black metal can....was highly 
recommended years ago by a fine English shop. For cleaning, Murphy's oil 
soap in water with the sponge/cloth wrung out; or Fiebling's(sp?) saddle 
soap - liquid or bar. Ruth
