RE: Rider knee surgury

Yep - I did that about 20 years ago, spent 6 weeks in a cast and
3 months of physical therapy. They usually don't cast anymore
because of the build-up of scar tissue. Wasn't riding back then
but my knee is essentially "normal" because I'm not doing a whole
lot to wear it out. I had arthroscopy, not a "zipper" as some
of the other ACL cases had.

I think a lot depends on how stable your knee is after the
surgery. I am still missing my ACL ligament in my left knee,
but my musculature has been able to compensate for it.

Dear ridecampers,
Has anyone ever had knee surgery to reconstruct a ruptured ACL ligament
and torn meniscus cartilage?
If so how long did it take you to recover and get back on a horse?
