progesteron level

My 18 year old Morgan mare just lost her foal 6 1/2 months into her 
pregnancy. The vet  said her blood sample showed very low (.12) progesteron 
level and because of this she couldn't support the pregnancy. He recommends 
putting her on Regumate for the next pregnancy, but I've been told this can 
be a very expensive proposition. If anyone has any experience with this 
problem, please email me privately. She has wonderful, old bloodlines and I 
would really like to get a foal out of her.
