Hallelujah

Just back from the Hallelujah ride. VERY well run, well organized,
well marked ride. Management did an excellent job. Plenty of vets
(130+ total riders), no big lines, and tons of Southern hospitality.
I don't have much in the way of results - what I do remember:
Lois McAffee (sp?) and Dinah Rojek (on Asterix) came in 1 and 2
on the 100 (11 starters). Wendy Mattingly won the 75 (11 starters) on Timmy
followed by Nina Gibson and Goat. The 50 (and BC) was won by Julie Bullock,
followed
by Joan Rash,Joy Mahler,Mary Goodman. Not sure of all the others.
Khruschev and I did great for the first 25 miles, then lost a shoe
going out on the 3rd loop. We finished, but lost a lot of time finding
a farrier - who already had two others waiting for help. There were lots of
little
muddy/clay puddles and dips and it seemed like a lot of horses either
lost or bent shoes. Oh well. Good conditioning ride....

Thanks Lucy and all of your great help. It seemed like the entire
community was there helping - S&R guys in yellow jackets at every
road crossing. Great weather - high in the mid 70's - then cooled
down later in the afternoon. I'm sure the 75's and 100's were
grateful.

I'm truly enjoying the Southeast - these folks are by far the friendliest
I've encountered. And I LOVE the accents :)
