Every horse should be shod an as individual.  Are you having problems with
your horse's gaits?  Or his feet?  What specifically has kept you from
riding because of suspensory problems?  More info is needed.  Also, keep in
mind that you aren't going to be trotting the entire distance and some
horses perform best at an easy canter as opposed to an extended trot. 
There has been much said about cantering vs. trotting during a ride on
ridecamp.  Perhaps there might be info in the archives Stacy could refer
to??
