MCT's???

I was reading the March issue of "The Whole Horse Journal" and came upon an
article titled "The Skinny on Fats". Was wondering if you all could help
out with info about the following. . .

. . .	"The bottom line is that fat fed to the horse is not immediately
available for energy. Therefore, it won't do any good to give your horse
fat snacks in the middle of a long trail ride or a high-fat meal before you
leave.
There is one exception to this rule -- 'MCT's' or 'medium chain
triglycerides.' An MCT, a fat with a specific weight or formula, does not
have to be processed by the liver before the body can use it. However,
MCTs are hard to come by. Palm and coconut oils are high in MCTs, but none
of the commonly used vegetable oils are.
The only oil on the market for horses that is high in MCTs is CocoSoya, a
blend of coconut and soybean oils from Uckele Animal Health. Otherwise,
unless you can encourage your horse to develop a taste for Cool Whip,
(which we're not advising) you won't be able to much MCT oil into him."

Has anybody tried this stuff? Do you think there would be reason to?
