Right on, Frank.  We sure can't predict who will win the ride by comparing 
recovery rates.  But we darn sure can eliminate the horses that are apt to 
have jugs hanging if we let them continue to the next stop.  And those two 
are NOT one and the same.

It is not the job of the ride vet to predict performance, but rather to be 
the advocate for the horse--the WHOLE horse--and to remove him from 
competition if he is being used beyond his ability to stay healthy.
