Helmets

Here in South Africa, it was voted at our last association annual general
meeting that helmets would be compulsory as from january the first 2000.
(All riders here have to belong to the association so the rule is easy to
enforce) There was alot of opposition but riders are abiding by the rules
(my Dad is even out helmet shopping!!!:-))

PS. Beware of stiff fixed visors, the backlash if you land on your face can
break your neck! We had such an accident here!

I can't believe all rides don't require helmets(for insurance reasons at
least). I think the Old Dominion rides require helmets, and at the Cosequin
Challenge, they also required shoes with heels if you didn't have some type
of safety stirrup(that might be an FEI thing). I use my helmet and my
safety
stirrups, always.

poor
brain needs all the help it can get)
