I've sold several saddles over the net and I try to encourage the buyer to go to a tack store and take out the same model / size to try on their horse first.  If it is a 'common' type saddle this works and they also see first hand that the used saddle is a better deal.  Otherwise, they would have to pay shipping there and back again and make their decision within 3 days after delivery.
