RE: 5 Reasons Why I Can't Go To Reno

One problem is convention space needs to be reserved most often five years
in advance. Space for one the size of the AERC Convention gets short shrift
because it is not large enough for the big cheaper places and it is to big
for the smaller ones.

Convention space planning is a specialized job that no one appreciates. It
is not just "we decide now for next year".

Subject: RC: 5 Reasons Why I Can't Go To Reno

I must say that I am extremely disappointed to hear that the convention
won't roatate sights anymore. I can drive to the events when they're
here (East Coast), but I simply can't afford to go to Reno (time & $$).
I'll <definitely> have to drop word to my East reps about my
disappointment in this (until now unknown) decision.

Is it possible that it can be held in a more centrally located area than
Nevada? Maybe more folks could come that way. Better yet, poll the
membership in their next renewal to decide what the <members> want!!!
Maybe it will stay in the West, maybe rotate. The convention is as much
about the members as the board.

I'm afraid that I can't argue with the volatility of the East Coast
weather. I've got 16" of snow with more to come over the weekend here
in West Virginia on top of the mountain. It does make it fluffy if you
fall off, though!
