I disagree. E-mail spelling DOES matter. Lazy habits, like misspelling, often 
transfer over to other modes of written communication. For instance, if 
someone applying for a job at my company sends me a resume that's misspelled, 
I throw it into the reject pile without even reading it. I have too many 
other resumes to read to waste the time trying to decipher a poorly spelled 
one.

 A misspelled and grammatically flawed resume tells me that the writer 
doesn't care enough to spell correctly. So then, I can only assume that he or 
she will do her work the very same way. I won't hire someone who's too lazy 
to spell correctly, or even have the courtesy to use the spell check feature 
on their word processor.
I am NOT a teacher. I will say that you should try to spell correctly, every 
single time you write, no matter if it's a master's dissertation or a grocery 
list.
