RE: level endurance field

Yeh, but the millionaire that has someone else condition his horse
would not know the horse, may make bad decisions because of lack
of experience from not doing the conditioning rides, and still not
sleep well in the poshest of accommodations because of a Type A
personality! And sometimes the best of vet care can't replace the
overall attention to detail into other factors such as body balance
for horse and rider, shoeing, nutrition, etc. that a committed owner
would pay attention as a preventative to those vet calls. And the
bonding between horse and rider that only training miles together
can make.

I have to admit having money for a really good saddle that's comfortable
for the rider and the horse is a real plus!

Subject: RC: level endurance field

In response to my comments about the different levels in endurance, Bob
Morris replied that endurance riding in AERC is a level playing field,
why
even a millionaire can ride (and get pulled). Well, the millionaire
could
afford someone to condition the horse, could afford the best vet care,
really good fencing, maybe a really good trailer, with sleeping quarters
for
the human, and maybe even a saddle to fit both rider and horse. Once on
the
trail, it may be a bit more level, but getting there is sure uphill for
me.
Guess I should have bought tha lottery ticket today.
