RE: Re: RE: Re. Sac. sale, "bred for endurance"?

I'll agree with you - the ideal "halter" horse is not the
ideal performance horse. If you read my post and read
about the "giraffes"..... you might have figured out that
the "non-giraffe" horses may have good endurance potential.
And look at the pedigrees of a lot of the halter horses...
Russian/Polish/Crabbett... just like you said! So you
think you are disagreeing? I'll disagree with you on that
point!!!!

"endurance pedigrees are the same names that pop up out of other
breeding
programs(read"halter")"
I disagree. What they like in the halter ring is NOT hardly rideable
anymore.
Take a look at AHW. Look at those long backs, "hot dog" torsos, flat
croups....
Some of them look like they would fall on their noses if the handler
wasn't
holding their head up!
I agree a good horse is a good horse no matter the pedigree, but their
are
bloodlines that are better suited for endurance (ie backs and croups).
This
is why the Polish, Russian, and old Crabbet do so well.
As for "endurance bloodlines" there will always be too many
variables...nothing like track racing....
