snow emergency

I have yet to find anything that works for snow other than pulling the
shoes (they are really quite fine barefoot) or using hoofgrip (Mustad
has them) rim pads with the shoe. Pam works for a very short
period of time, flat pads might help, but can still get pretty darn
dangerous and popper pads work until the snow melts and the
horse ends up with a pound of mud inside the pad. Easy boots are
slippery and the studded ones are very hard to keep on. Have I
covered everything?! Just part of life in Vermont......where we
FINALLY have snow.
