You are not crazy for taking your horse out on walks. I do the same quite 
frequently. Sometimes I go running with them . . . it keeps both of us 
exercised and gives the horse  a different change of pace from riding all the 
time. I find it extrememly valuable for my babies. They are really confident 
and used to the trail far before I ever get on them. I do get alot of people 
that ask me if anything is the matter when they see me off walking my horses. 
That can be a little annoying. After all it really isn' t all that strange is 
it?
