Man, y'all are going to think I'm the Marquis De Sade. . .

I haven't done any 50 milers yet, but having a crop with me is yet another
safety device.

My mare can get very aggressive (especially when she's tired) and sometimes
a swat and a 'quit!' will get her attention when a simple 'quit!' won't.

I'm also told they're great against roaming dogs. . .

Don't y'all also use them to 'inspire' your crew?  You know, wandering
around like Cecil B DeMille tapping it on your riding tights?  :)
