Not that a small truck is ideal for pulling a horse trailer,
but you may want to look into the Brenderup trailers.

These trailers are made in Europe where they don't have the
big pickups we have here and are built to be easier to pull.
They have a excellent video (for a small fee) that fully
explains their concept. Its worth looking in to.
We have one and love it, the only downside is the tack comp
is a bit small for 2 western type saddles.
