Re: RC: Re: Re: AERC National Championships

Hi Sandy
I saw the behind-the-scenes at the ROC when my kids and I volunteered to
help as staff. I wouldn't want to be in charge--- REALLY stressful. Took
an incredible commitment and volunteers generally took a beating--- not
enough people and too much minutia. We had fun between the running
around, but then we were not in charge. I had to hand it to Susan and
Donnis--- they certainly had to put their heart and soul into it--- and
then some!! Stress levels were at all time highs! (Like when Val and
Danielle were coming into the home stretch and we had no idea where the
trophies were, nor had we finished the finish line. Panic city!! (Gave
up on trying to locate the champagne glasses <BG>) Pandemonium!!!! (Ask
any volunteers--- not too many were repeaters, from what I understand).
Had a guy filming for TV who had VERY bright lights at the finish
line--- you can imagine the responses from the horses-- not to mention
the riders! So much to keep track of and to balance needs of! Probably
the reason it is no more!
