RE: Different strokes

Just like they should avoid the Big Horn 100, the Swanton 100, the Old
Dominion 100, any ride that is put on by the Morris' etc. etc. I always
considered it ENDURANCE RIDING not look for the easiest rides in the nation
so I can look better than the rest! Guess I was just brought up in the wrong
manner.

Kat
Once again, a very clear, concise and intelligent post--you are one of the
most valuable visitors to this forum!
	One point, tho: You said
"If your goal is thousands of miles of completion and/or top ten finishes
(to get bonus points) then Tevis is no more a “target” than any other 100
mile ride, since the miles and bonus points are the same as for other rides
(in fact, probably less so, because the competition both against other
riders and against the trail is so much stiffer)."

I think it is pretty generally perceived that Tevis is
"special"--especially prestigious, because is it especially difficult. Do
you not think that attempting Tevis calls for a little more focused
preparation than "any other 100 worth the same points"?
Perhaps someone seriously trying for high mileage would be better off
AVOIDING Tevis, in favor of easier rides...
