RE: wintecs & heavyweights

I'm a "lightweight" and I didn't have much luck with the Wintec, either. I
liked a lot of features of the Wintec, but it put a lot of pressure in the
wrong spot. It supposedly was tested to have one of the least efficient
weight distribution. I heard that the Isabel Werth model is good, tho.

Dear Kerri-Jo;
If your tree is flexing in the middle, it is not doing its job. If it
hasn't actually broken in half, it is at least bending badly...not what
a tree is designed to do. They are supposed to distribute the rider's
weight along the length of the bars so as not to put pressure on any one
point on the horse's back. If there are already white marks on your
horses' backs, there is damage.
I have heard of this happening in two other popular brands of endurance
saddles. I would look for a saddle more suited to your weight
distribution needs.
