My walking horse mare is the most sure footed horse I've ever been on.
Over just about anything and never misses a beat. I remember a
conversation where a couple of people were talking about you could never
do the OD with out borium and never in flat plates even with borium
because of the footing. I just laughed since the mare did it in flat
plates titanium shoes in the front and basic keg shoes in the rear, no
borium and never sliped or never missed a step. She will trot on down a
paved road where I will get off an walk my arabs. 

Much of the problem you might be seeing Karen is toes that are to long
and heels that are too short.
