Breeds

I have been reading the posts about what breeds are better for Endurance. I
believe that we are focusing to much on what breed. We should be focusing
more on the horse as an individual. Their individual personality,
conformation and ability. Each horse even within the same breed are so
different from each other, sometimes in body structure or temperament. A
person looking to purchase a horse for Endurance has allot of things to
consider. One of them being what are their goals. To accumulate mileage
while enjoying your horse. To be a top ten competitor while enjoying your
horse. To pleasure ride in an organized environment while enjoying your
horse. Sometimes we go back and forth between our goals as our needs
change. The focal point still being enjoying your horse. The horse that
you buy is not only going to be your teammate but hopefully your best friend
and you will come to rely on each other on the trail. If a horse is sound,
has good conformation and ability or promise to have that ability and there
personality fits you. Don't exclude a horse of any breed do to stereotypes.
