Trails/land access survery. Please complete

I was recently talking with Kandee Haertel, the new Executive Director of
the Equestrian Land Conservation Resource (ELCR) and she has asked that we
encourage riders to complete the Open Space Access Survey that will be used
to further promote the ELCR’s mission to promote the protection of open
land. Once compiled and analyzed this data will serve as a resource to
individuals who are interested in maintaining access to land for riding and
driving. The survey can be found on the web site at http://www.elcr.org/.
Please help this organization by taking a few minutes to log on and complete
the survey. The insights gained from this study will be used to help all of
us.

You can find more information about ELCR’s mission and the resources it has
available on the website as well. Their Equestrian Land Protection Guide
($15 plus shipping) is a wonderful tool for learning about how to help stem
the loss of open land and riding access. There are chapters that address
the issues to be considered when undertaking a land protection project, such
as developing a team, how to plan the project and fund it, tax advantages
for landowners, types of real estate agreements, and actions to take in a
crisis. There is an order form on the Website or you can order it from
ELCR, P.O. Box 335, Galena, IL 61036. Call 815-776-0150 for more
information.

Thanks a lot in advance for doing this - I know that all of you are
interested preserving our riding space - so Kandee should see lots of new
responses. Right?
