If time permits, I'll post all 79 finishers (out of 125 starters).  It was a 
hot day with 84% humidity.  This slowed the race considerably, but although a 
few horses were treated for metabolic factors, there was nothing terribly 
serious.  A few horses were DQ'd for overtime, as the riders were doing just 
as they ought...taking care of their horses due to the heat and humidity.  We 
out here in the west are not as accustomed to this combination as the riders 
in the midwest and the east.  But then, we have tougher mountains, not as 
rocky here, but quite steep.  The countryside is gorgeous now, we had rain a 
week ago (which quit just in time to allow the ride to go), and the grass is 
"as high as an elephant's eye".  Lots of wildflowers and wonderful songbirds.
