I found the Cloud stirrups too big -- there is too much platform for my
foot to rest on. The platform extends into the arch area of my foot which
made it very difficult to keep my weight in my heels and not towards the
balls of my feet -- nearly impossible for me to lower my heels.

I use the plastic EZ Ride stirrups with cages and love them. I got a great
idea from a rider in Oregon this weekend regarding the cages and cold
weather -- velcro on some warm, fuzzy stuff (sorta like Tapaderos...is that
the right word?) for toe warmers. I have some (somewhere!) that I ordered
many years ago to be used with western stirrups. I went to a dressage
saddle shortly after, however, so didn't get much chance to use them.
They're stuffed away somewhere for safe keeping!! ;-) They should work
(maybe with some modification) to keep my toes warm in the winter. Anyone
else done anything like this?
