Kris,

You hit the nail on the head.  That is why this research never amounted to
anything.  Not specific enough to draw any meaningful conclusion.

This is interesting information.  A good place to start.  But a few
questions, or 'caveats' come to mind.

1) Raffles is so widespread in the Arab population that you would (as you
indicated) expect to see him in a lot of the endurance pedigrees.

2) Many of the older horses (I particularly noticed some of the Davenports)
have been available for so long that they have become widespread also.

3) Many of the horses currently being used in endurance, or still alive (I'm
thinking of the references to Wazirs Karahty) don't have many offspring, so
you wouldn't expect them to show up.  I looked up Karahty on the current AHR
CD-ROM for kicks, and it lists something like 37 total purebred offspring.
He does have lines to some of the horses on the list.

4) Recent imports (I'm thinking the Pritzlaff horses now, though there may
be others) generally haven't been here long enough to get a large contingent
into the endurance ranks.

5) I kept wondering where all the black horses came from.  Then I realized
that all of them were actually bays.  "B" is bay, "K" is black.
