sponging compromise

I had to laugh when the person out west mentioned that they couldn't keep
their sponge wet enough not to float between tosses.  Lots of times I wet
my sponge the night before the ride, and it's plenty wet enough to sink
when the ride starts the next morning.  Ahh the difference high humidity
makes.

Year before last at Big South Fork it got really hot and we were on the
dry loop.  There are bridges over boggy crossings and I got off  on one
of them, leaned out through the rails, and tossed at a puddle that was on
the other side of about 4 feet of bog.  Got him nice and sponged down.
Try that with a scoop. >g<
