RE: Educating Ride Managers?

Lynette - I have been to many rides where I looked at the
finish line and thought 'no way'. Sometimes there are no
other choices, but often the ride manager just doesn't see
the danger. Some ride managers don't ride, or at least
don't race for top placement and may not see the finish
line from that perspective. Sometimes just calling attention
to the situation (as has been done with this protest/appeal)
is enough to make ride managers take a closer look at their
course. We can also get more specific and recommend
x distance from the nearest rig, x distance from observers,
etc. You'd be amazed at how many finish lines run right
through camp. This is not about condemning any particular
ride manager, it is an ongoing problem that really needs to
be taken more seriously.

Randy,
As a member of the AERC, I would like to
know the reasoning behind the
this motion by the board. Plus, just how
are you going to "educate"
all of the ride managers?
