Re: questions with foals....



I think all of us at one time (perhaps when we were younger and shorter?)
were told a certain horse was such and such for height and for the rest of
our lives, if we don't get that measuring stick, go around measuring all
horses compared to that one.  I have a fairly close eye (not bad at
guessing angles either) so I'm fortunate but I can't believe the number of
people who will tell me how TALL their horse is, at LEAST 16 hands, and I
am pretty sure the horse is MAYBE 15 hands BEFORE Nelson trims it!  :)  I
just smile and suggest that a measuring stick is a good investment.  Some
people are very offended if you suggest their horse is any less than what
they think it is!  If it's their "baby", I let them think what they will,
but if it's something they want to sell and want us to spread the word
about, I suggest we actually measure it.  Very eye opening!
