Re: quartercrack question on mules



Do these cracks go all the way to the coronet band?  Is the mule barefoot
or shod? Is the mule's foot naturally a double ought or is it just being
shod with a 00? More information please.  Some chipping and cracking is
normal for a barefoot horse (or mule) and is to be expected.  Not all the
way to the coronet band though.  A true quarter crack will go up to the
coronet band and may sometimes be the result of injury to the coronet band
or can sometimes be genetic....
