I'm currently riding a 1/2 arab, 1/2 quarter horse and I
love every minute of it.  He seems more arab than QH, but he
is built like the QH.  Can he do 50 miles....probably not.
He doesn't seem to have the heart or desire to do it.  But
he loves his 25 milers....just goes and goes for that.  Take
the horse for what he is worth and enjoy it.  I love taking
Phoenix out on the trail and seeing what is around the next
corner...almost as much as he does.  He is an ex-barrel
racer and he is a much happier horse now that he gets out on
the trail.  Who knows, after a couple of years of doing
25's, he may actually want to do 50's and enjoy doing
them!!!  Regardless of the outcome of that I will always
keep him and enjoy what he is willing to give me.
