I have used the keeper straps too.  They work pretty well except for the
fact that the boot was flopping on the end of the strap and my mare tried to
leave the earth when that boogy man held onto her leg.  Then she decided to
stomp it to death.  Then she started spinning to fling it off.  Had  great
fun trying to get her to hold still long enough to let me get off and fix
things.  I decided it was safer and in the long run, probably cheaper to not
use the strap.          gesa n clovis (dont ya be tyin' anything to my
leg!!!!)
