Dogs in camp

Hi, campers,

I've spent plenty of time in camp, massaging horses, while everyone else is
on the ride itself. So I can say that I've seen a lot of the mischief that
dogs get into while mom or dad are out on the trail. I wholeheartedly support
any manager who bans dogs. Why? It's that old "but not MY dog" syndrome.

Some dogs are poorly trained...but not MY dog.

Some people leave their dog in the trailer, where it cries, barks and howls
all day...but not MY dog.

Some dogs roam the camp, getting into everyone's else's coolers, trash bags,
trailers, hay, etc..but not MY dog.

Some people refuse to neuter their dogs, so they spend the day marking
territory, picking fights, and schmoozing female dogs....but not MY dog.

Some dogs think it's FUNNY to snap at horse's noses while they're
picketed...but not MY dog.

Some dogs think it's funny to lunge out from under their trailer, barking,
growling and defending it's temporary turf...but not MY dog.

Some dogs bark with every breath, night and day, stopping only to eat and
sleep, (and their owners don't care if other people hear it)....but not MY
dog.

Some dogs think it's their right to shove a nose into my crotch and growl if I
swat them away...but not MY dog.

Some dogs wait until mom's on the trail, then wander through the woods and the
camp, getting into everything and being a nuisance...but not MY dog.

Some dogs poop in my hay, in front of my camper door, pee on my truck tires
and then go back to their own camp....but not MY dog.

Some dogs are small enough to be smuggled into camp, where they spend the
entire day barking at passersby from the safety of their camper...but not MY
dog.

Some dogs lie in the middle of the trail, road, etc, making it dangerous to
drive or ride...but not MY dog.

Some dogs think I'm there to feed them, and will NOT go away...but not MY
dog.

Some dogs think that my camp is much too close to theirs, and spend the entire
time charging or barking at me, my horses or my family....but not MY dog.

Some dogs wander at night, despite "being tied" up by the owners...but not MY
dog.

Some dogs have the magical ability to untie themselves, remove their collars
and run wild, for the very first time in their lives, while mom is on the
ride....but not MY dog.

Some people are allergic to dogs, and react immediately in the presence of
one...but no one is allergic to MY dog.

Some people leave their dogs in charge of their kids, who promptly ignore the
dog and run off to play...but not MY dog.

Some people think that the words "No dogs allowed" applies to everyone else
but them, because THEIR dog is family, and they wouldn't dream of leaving the
dog behind at home. My animals are my family, too, but I wouldn't think of
bring my geese, or my cat to a ride.
When the rules say No Dogs Allowed, that means MY dog too!!!
