Hi, Maryanne--

In CTR's you aren't supposed to be off the horse to speak of at all, depending
somewhat on the rule system you are using. With endurance, running varies
from a lot to nonexistent. Some of my runner friends do a LOT of groundwork,
but short stubby people such as myself figure that the good lord gave the
horse four legs for a good reason, and we stay mounted! I sometimes get off
for brief walks with my horse, but even in my younger days when I DID run, I
couldn't keep up with my horse so I stayed on when endurance riding.
