It does help, Kirsten, but my husband and kids refuse to crew anything less 
than a 100 miler for me.  They think doing the 50s "solo' is good 
conditioning for me -- least that's what they tell me!  Actually, I like not 
having a crew to worry about on a 50 -- nobody there saying "Where have you 
been????" (I hear that alot on a 100!).  Plus, my kids work me for trips to 
Toys R us for months after the Tevis.  I probably couldn't afford 'em for the 
50 milers!
