RC: Carbo Charge on the Fly

Hi there,
sorry to answer only now... I was too involved with conditioning Orfeo and preparing him for the CEI-A in Abu Dhabi. Here in Belgium the weather is disgusting (rain, rain...you know...like the song of John Lee Hooker...)

Anyway... he seems to be ready know... I just come from the racetrack, having galloped him for one and alf hour at an average speed of 24 Km/H. You will maybe not believe me (I don't believe my HRM neather!), but he was cruising alway at 100..120; no more than that! and I stopped every half hour to monitor the time he needs to recover to 64... 3 minutes... he is in great shape.

Voila.

Concerning the carbo stuff... you american guys, you make me laugh!

In Europe, you can see you crew every 5 kilometers (this was the case in the european championship in Portugal. So the policy for them is to have always one syringe of electrolytes ready, one of Carbo, one bottle of water (Evian or Vittel is nice :) :) and one bucket of water with grenadine syrup in it (Orfeo likes it and so does he not feel the difference in smell of water... especially interesting in UAE with their 'artificial' water). Furthermore they have to take pictures and movies at the same time :) :) otherwise they get fired!

Voila... c'est comme cela que l'on fait en France et en Belgique!!!

Seriously... I ALWAYS used carbo on Orfeo, without ANY bad effects!

Best regards and Happy New Year ... now I will go at work being in permanancy for the millenium bug!

Cheers

Leonard

......>>>>>>>>>>>>>>To Leonard of Belgium:
Please share with us how you managed to dose your horse with CC by syringe
every hour while going that fast? (Or were you lucky/Big Time enough to have
a crew follow you around to do it??) I'm having a real problem with just the
logistics of dosing the stuff!
