Didn't say "must", Frank.  Just that it is one of my selection criteria for 
my own horses.  All horses have a handicap somewhere--and for many, it is not 
wanting to eat when there are exciting things going on.

Just as there are horses doing great with less-than-perfect legs, there are 
also horses doing great with less-than-perfect fueling capacity.  But it 
seems you are already aware that that is a problem with your own horse, and 
are doing your best to work around it.  And just because there are 
crooked-legged horses doing well does not mean that I will drop good legs as 
a selection criterion, either.
