This is extremely true.  I was doing some research on possibly using
ultrasound to determine heart output as an undergrad, and the 'research'
sponsored by the manufacturers was a lot different from what I found in my
own lab, and what independent researchers found.

That's one reason I'm not too interested in experimenting on my horses.
