Take a step back and look at the whole horse.  That, and look at him before 
he LEAVES the check, not just when he comes in.  There was a big discussion 
about that on the vet list awhile back, and the ELDRIC vets felt they are 
seeing merit in that.  I've felt for years that that is one of the main 
factors that has contributed to the low treatment rate at many of our NW 
rides.  (Granted, we don't often have the severe humidity to contend with, 
either.)  But--IMO, you can catch a lot of problems one vet check earlier 
that way.
