Abba Peavine - a/ka/ Big Red only lost 18 pounds. He is truly awesome! I was
surprised at his weight, even though I knew he lost some from Hahira.

The other finishers were:

1st - Debbie Foti
2nd - Brandi Bobst
3rd - I'm sorry I didn't get it at the awards! Please e-mail me if you know.
4th - Nelson Blackmore
5th - Nicki Young
6th - Harry Parker
7th - Anet Blackmore
8th - Joby Delano
9th - Ruth Serling - Canada East Team!
10th - Jackie Baker

Winnning time was 3 hours 44 minutes according to my BC sheet, 10th place
time was 4 hours 10 minutes. It was pretty close. To be honest , Big Red
felt great , it had been raining since 10:PM the night before and we both
just wanted to get it over with. We did the same as Truman and left Sat eve
after the awards. I'm sorry I was so brain-dead that I didn't get much info
on the 25 milers except Samantha Thompson (?) was the 1st Jr rider and I
beleive Amy Sauls won BC. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

I was starting to whine to myself on the hard-forme 3rd loop, when I
remebered the story last year that someone posted about a ride out west
(Derby Ditch?) that it started snowing and the rider had ice on the side of
her face, so then I quit whining to myself, smiled and said get on with it!
I changed shirts 3 times, pants twice and shoes once! Every time I went into
the VC, Dr. Bryant had on different clothes, too.
NOw that I think back about it it really was a lot of fun, I guess it helps
to have selctive memory in endurance!

Happy Trails,

Jackie Baker
