Re: RC: trucks: Poor Dodge service - VERY LONG

Automatic transmission, 3.55 rear end (would have liked the 4.10, but
too torquey for everyday use), dually. Have been to two dealers,
both ok. My "regular" one even invited me into the service bay, one
time, when I thought it was a TPS problem (no power in 3rd and above
gears) coming home from the EHSC ride in Bridgeport. Turned out to
be bad diesel at the Shell station north of Ridgcrest/south of CJ.
I appreciated being able to watch my dealer's tranny ace test
everything, then bring their best engine guy in who drained a little
fuel from the filter, smelled it, and taught me what bad diesel
smells like! Usually dealers won't let the customers anywhere near
the bays.

It's harder to troubleshoot a problem with the computer-controlled
stuff these days. For instance, on my Dodge, the transmission
upshift is computer-controlled, 3rd gear and above, and the TPS tells
the xmsn when to shift. It "felt" like a fuel delivery problem when
it went out, but nope.
