Tom - would you please share it with us? (and feel

Also - how/where can a person get a glucometer that
can be used on horses??

It was Abu Dhabi. We used 2-4 oz of Glycogen loader every 2 hours--the horses
that got more did better and had lower post-race CPKs. The improved
performance was very clear to the Sheikh and his team. I am under contract
and can't talk a lot about what we're doing, but we're moving toward
carbohydrate loading and supplementation rather rthan away from it.
The races there are quite different from US races--all flat going, some deep,
and higher rates of speed overall. The trip was mind-boggling. I was treated
like just another Sheikh--lunch and dinner with Their Highnesses Tahnoon,
Hazza, Mansoor, and Muhammed, two weeks of intense work, midnight
conditioning rides, falcon hunting, a butler at the hotel, a Rolex going home
present, a year's contract--I am awash in gratitude to Sheikh Tahnoon.
I am happy to be back on ridecamp. Healthy, treatments almost over, and, it
appears, starting a whole new life. I will be happy to continue to exchange
information with ridecampers, but can talk no further about what is
specifically going on in Abu Dhabi.
I need information about respiration rates--what's normal, what's abnormal,
etc. Still have a lot to learn about this sport and need a boost from you
guys.
