Mine is a 98 3/4 ton and it has the 24 valve. yup you are right Lovell it is the cat's meow. Great power and great mileage. unloaded I average 20-21 mpg and loaded 15-16.
Loaded it pulls the hills here in East Texas like we are still running the flats. Really a very good pulling truck and  very comfortable ride.
