adopt a trail dog

Ahem...thought I'd try this route JIC the current promises via the rescue
network fall thru. I have a 21 month old spayed German Shepherd in foster
care, looking for a new appropriate home. She came to me late October
nearly frantic after spending most of her life on a chain or in a small pen,
8X8, with few opportunities to play. Now she is a lovely sociable dog,
learning basic obedience routines very quickly in the little time I've had
to teach her. She walks at heel on lead without tugging, sits at heel,
comes when called and sits in front, lies down on request, and is beginning
to learn to stay, to fetch and to find me when I hide. I took her with me
when I rode Misty on Buffalo Mountain and she stayed well within view,
usually just outside the strike zone of Misty's rear end. When a deer broke
cover she started to chase it but instantly returned with a simple, "Sassy,
no!" from me. This dog is very loving, gets along with all my big dogs, and
is learning to coexist with the Jack Russell Terriers who hated her on
sight. Sassy lives outdoors but has learned to be quiet indoors and will
lie down beside my recliner. I have not housetrained her because she never
stays indoors long enough; my guess is she will learn house rules in short
order because she is fastidious about her toilet--puts all her business in
one corner of the kennel or close to the woods, not close to the house.

Email me for more info.
