Don't discount verbal commands....when my horse freaks out nothing works
except some very strong WHOA commands. Whether I'm on the ground or on his
back, this seems to work. Easy boy and it is ok, don't do anything to calm
this horse down, it is a simple and plain WHOA. Depending on the situation,
you may have to say it 2 or 3 times before it penetrates his brain, but when
it does, immediate compliance. It doesn't matter if you are sitting down in
the saddle, standing in the stirrups or on the ground. He knows the tone of
voice and that I mean Whoa.

He also knows when I say "coookies".

Diane and Phoenix (where are the coookies?)
